Checking out faster between two clients: what a purpose-built POS changes

A tanning salon's point of sale has to keep up with a five-minute changeover.

Between two tanning sessions, there is rarely more than a few minutes to check a client out, take payment and get the next one started. A point of sale built for a shop counter was never designed for that pace.

Every second at the till is a client waiting

Looking up a client, checking what they are due, and working out the price should not take longer than the changeover itself allows.

The balance is already known

When the till already knows a client's remaining sessions and subscription status, there is nothing to look up: the right amount, or the right deduction from a pack, is simply there.

Payment without extra steps

A card payment, a deposit already taken online, or a session pulled from a package should all check out the same way, in one step, not three separate ones depending on how the client is paying.
