Connecting a sunbed to software means the bed starts when a session is sold at the till, runs the exact time paid for, then stops and ventilates on its own. With Solaryx, a relay box connects to the bed with two wires, on the same input a reception timer or a coin box uses. Ergoline and megaSun beds are supported, and for any other brand we check the model before installation.

What does a connected sunbed actually mean?

A connected bed is a bed the software can start and stop. In Solaryx this goes through dedicated relay boxes, from a single bed to a full multi-room salon. When a session is sold, the bed runs through three phases: preparation, the exact time sold, then ventilation.

Nobody walks to a timer to key in minutes. The time the bed runs is the time that was sold, and the bed picker at the till shows the real state of every bed: free, running or cooling down.

What changes compared with a manual reception timer?

With a manual timer, the till and the bed live apart. Staff sell a session, then set a duration by hand, and nothing checks that the two match. A wrong key, a generous moment or a busy afternoon can all end up as minutes nobody paid for.

Once the bed is connected, the sale drives the bed. In practice:

  • Exact time: the bed runs what was sold, not what was typed on a keypad.
  • Turnaround: heating and airing time is reserved around each session, so nobody is sent to a bed that is still venting.
  • Wrong bed: if a customer was started on the wrong bed, one click moves the whole session to the right one.
  • Stop reasons: stopping a running session always records why.
  • Electricity: each session is costed in electricity as it ends, with the lamps charged only while they burn.
  • Legal checks: before starting, the bed checks with the server, so a session recorded at another till is never missed.

Which sunbed brands work with Solaryx?

Ergoline and megaSun beds are supported. The relay box takes the place of what usually sits on the bed's timer input: two wires, on the same input as a reception timer or a coin box.

The equipment catalog in Solaryx also lists Luxura and Soltron models, with lamp lifetime and UV output filled in from the model. That catalog feeds the equipment records and the lamp alerts. For the connection itself, any brand other than Ergoline and megaSun is checked model by model, before installation.

What about older beds and other brands?

Send us the brand and the model of each bed before anything is planned. We check it before installation and, if needed, adapt the wiring to that model. That way the answer comes before the installation day, not on it.

An older bed follows the same route: send the model, we check it. If the bed already runs on a reception timer or a coin box today, tell us, because that is the input the relay box connects to.

What we never ask is that you wire anything yourself. The relay boxes are installed by us.

What does the installation look like?

Installation takes about half a day. The relay boxes are included in the setup and stay on loan for the length of the contract. On the day, each bed is connected to its relay box and set up in Solaryx.

If you are moving from another system, the migration carries gift card balances and remaining session packages. Whether migration is included or billed once per site is confirmed with the quote.

What happens if a relay box or the power fails?

Each relay box carries a unique identity, so a swapped or cloned device is detected, and the register alerts the moment a box goes offline. Our monitoring alerts us as well, and we restart or replace the box. You never have to work on the hardware yourself.

During a power cut, nothing irreversible happens. When power comes back, the system recovers the state of the beds and resumes cleanly, without charging the customer twice. A session cut by a relay box outage is recorded as interrupted at the last moment the box answered, never as delivered in full, and it can be restored for the time that was left.

Can a bed still run for a test or an inspection?

Yes. A bed can run without a customer for an inspection, a test or a demonstration. The run is logged, blocks the bed on the planning while it lasts, and never touches customer records or billing.

Each bed also keeps an hour counter. Every lamp replacement is recorded with its running hours and who did it, and Solaryx flags the lamps when they are due, before output fades. A manager can correct the counter by hand, for example on a bed taken over with used lamps.

How much does connecting the beds cost?

The relay boxes and the bed connection are part of the Solaryx setup: € 4,000 per site, one time, covering installation, configuration, team training and the bed controllers. The subscription is € 100 per month per site for 1 to 4 beds, € 125 for 5 to 10 and € 150 from 11, excluding VAT, with no long-term commitment.
